Alongside the standard weld neck Desflex Compact Flange, Destec supplies a swivel type version designed to accommodate a degree of angular movement or misalignment during installation, without compromising the flange's weight saving or sealing performance. The swivel design retains the same patented spherical nut and toe features as the standard flange, so bolt stress and flange rotation remain controlled regardless of the small angular adjustment the swivel joint allows. This makes the swivel flange particularly useful on tie-ins where exact pipe alignment cannot be guaranteed in advance, such as subsea connections made by ROV or topside modifications carried out on existing pipework. Swivel flanges are available in the same range of materials as the standard flange, including carbon, stainless, alloy and duplex steels, and can be paired with the Desalign Misalignment Ball Flange connector where a greater degree of misalignment needs to be accommodated across a pipeline.
