Destec supplies the Desflex Compact Flange for subsea pipework where minimum weight and reduced maintenance both matter more than they do on a comparable topside installation. The flange's weight saving of up to 88 percent over an equivalent ANSI flange reduces the load a subsea structure or manifold needs to support, while the patented spherical nut and toe design keeps flange rotation under control even where post-installation access for re-tightening is limited or impossible. Sealing is handled by Destec's own D and RD range of all-metal seal rings, chosen for their reusability and their proven performance under subsea pressure and temperature conditions, so a subsea connection does not need a new gasket sourced and fitted by ROV every time it is broken down. Standard and swivel weld neck versions are both available, giving flexibility where a subsea tie-in needs to accommodate a degree of angular adjustment during installation. The flange range meets NORSOK standards for operators working on Norwegian continental shelf projects, alongside its ASME VIII compliance for other international subsea developments.
