Destec supplies seal rings up to 2150mm in diameter, covering the large end of the size range for vessel closures, heat exchanger connections and major pipeline joints where a conventional gasket would be impractical to manufacture or handle reliably at that scale. Seal rings up to 850mm diameter are supplied as a double cone ring, while sizes above 200mm diameter can be supplied with a central rib, which helps maintain a high seating stress while keeping the overall width of the seal ring down to a manageable and cost effective size. Standard seal ring sizes are stepped in 5mm increments to closely match the bore of the component being sealed, and where an exact match is required for a large diameter application, Destec manufactures a purpose designed seal ring to suit. Large diameter seal rings are manufactured in the same range of materials as the standard product line, from carbon and alloy steels through to Inconel, depending on the pressure, temperature and process fluid involved.
