Compact Flanges

The Destec Desflex Compact Flange was the original compact flange design built to meet ASME VIII Div 1 and Div 2, and it carries Type Approval along with a passed API fire test. Against an equivalent ANSI flange it can cut weight by up to 88 percent, while still offering quick, easy make-up and stronger mechanical and fatigue performance. That combination makes it well suited to both topside and subsea applications, where every kilogram of flange weight adds up and where reduced maintenance matters. Standard and swivel weld neck versions are available, and each can be supplied in carbon, stainless, alloy or duplex steel to suit the application. The flanges meet NORSOK standards and use a patented design with spherical bolting nuts, which cuts bolt stress, plus a toe feature that limits flange rotation and stops the flange from being overstressed during assembly. Sealing is handled by Destec's own D and RD range of all-metal seal rings, which are reusable and give a reliable metal-to-metal seal under demanding pressure and temperature conditions.

For pipelines with a misalignment issue, the Desalign Misalignment Ball Flange connector mates to a standard Desflex compact flange and doubles as a swivel joint. It is rated to 1500lb or 900lb ANSI, piggable in both directions, and sealed at the bore using Destec's own sealing technology, with sizes running from 4 inch to 24 inch.
