Destec supplies the Desflex Compact Flange, the original compact flange design built to meet ASME VIII Div 1 and Div 2, carrying Type Approval and a passed API fire test as standard. Against an equivalent ANSI flange, the design offers weight savings of up to 88 percent, while still giving quick and easy make-up alongside superior mechanical strength and fatigue performance compared with a conventional bolted flange. This combination of reduced weight and improved fatigue life makes the Desflex flange a practical fit for both topside plant and subsea pipework, where every kilogram of installed weight has a knock-on cost in supporting structure, lifting and transport. Standard and swivel type weld neck flanges are both available, and each can be supplied in carbon, stainless, alloy or duplex steel depending on the process fluid and environment.
