Destec supplies the Desflex Compact Flange in carbon steel for standard process and utility applications where the corrosion resistance of stainless or duplex steel is not required. Carbon steel flanges retain the full weight saving benefit of the compact flange design over an equivalent ANSI flange, along with the same patented spherical nut and toe features that control bolt stress and flange rotation during assembly. Both standard and swivel weld neck versions are available in carbon steel, built to ASME VIII Div 1 and Div 2 with Type Approval and a passed API fire test carried across the material range. Carbon steel remains the most cost effective material option within the Desflex range, making it a practical choice for utility, water, air and other non-aggressive service pipework where the flange's weight and fatigue benefits are still valued but higher alloy content is not required.
