Recently, our team worked closely with mechanical and design engineers at a leading handling and lifting company to manufacture a series of custom Dee Shackles as part of a comprehensive handling solution for their client.

A total of eight shackles were produced from 2-inch (50.8mm) diameter S355 mild steel. The steel was initially hot forged into a 'dog bone' shape, with each eye measuring 120mm in outer diameter, and machine-finished with a 56mm hole. The steel was then hot bent to an internal radius of 65mm and a length of 550mm, using specialised tools to achieve the final shackle form.
