15th March 2010 - Moisture measurement in HIP processes

Alba have been servicing Bodycote’s Panametrics Moisture analysers for almost 2 years, the combination of Dew point, PPMV and oxygen measurement is used to ensure the quality of gas used within the Hot Isostatic Pressing (HIP), is a manufacturing process used to reduce the porosity of metals and influence the density of multiple ceramic materials. This improves the mechanical properties and workability of the material.
