We are currently looking to recruit another full time Tool-maker (Bench-hand), to increase further our tool-making team
The building and/or maintenance work on all small to medium sized press tooling (multi-stage progression, single operational, Combination, Compound etc.), jigs and fixtures undertaken by Westley Engineering Ltd.
You must be familiar with working on small to medium sized progression press tools, using material as thin as 0,1mm thick.
You will be playing an active part in diagnosing and analyzing problems or potential problem on tooling, together with coming up with solutions to problems.
The proper operating and using of machinery (Lathes, grinding machines and Drilling machines etc.), or any other machinery that is considered standard within the industry at that time.
You will be required to play an active part in the initial trying out of press tools within presses.
Reading and understanding component drawings or/and Press tool drawings is a must.
You shall need to be capable of using correctly, standard checking equipment, for example, micrometers, verniers and DTI`s, to name but a few.
A requirement is to be able to read, write and do some simple mathematics.
Filling in of paperwork (recording of information) is an essential part of the job.

Basic hours per week – 39hrs
Monday to Thursday – 7:00am to 12:45pm & 1:15pm to 4:00pm
Friday – 7:00am to 12:00pm
We are offering a very attractive hourly rate, and all overtime is paid at time & a half.
Working from within a very modern World class premises, which is less than 1 mile North of the Birmingham Town Centre, and very close to the motorway network (A38M).
Holiday entitlement (including Bank Holidays) – 33 days per annum.
