Type LR Clamps were used to Secure the Bridge Walkway

The bridge spans over 800 metres across the Ohio River to connect Newport in Kentucky to downtown Cincinnati. Lindapter fixings were used to secure the permanent bridge walkway along the entire span of the structure. Lindapter Type LR clamps were specified because of their high strength capacity, adjustability and their ability to eliminate the need for drilling or welding on site. Lindapter’s extensive project experience and wide range of independent technical accreditations such as the CE mark approval provided further confidence for the specifiers. Lindapter’s connection solution enabled the contractor to simply clamp the new walkway to the existing structure without drilling or welding on site. The clamp’s adjustability was particularly beneficial because it allowed a quick alignment of the steelwork before the clamps were tightened with basic hand tools to complete the installation. The Type LR clamps adjusted to suit the various sized beams and sloped flanges up to 15°, which provided further convenience and time-savings.
