WTS Reindeer Bridle Tension System

Studying how rein tension actually transfers through a bit to a reindeer's poll requires measuring two forces simultaneously and in real time, not on a lab bench after the fact. Interface's solution places two SMA Miniature S-Type Load Cells in the line of the reins and the cheekpiece, wired into a Wireless Telemetry System so the rider carries no equipment beyond a modified camera case attached to a breastplate. Data streams live to a PC or handheld receiver via the WTS-AM-1E Transmitter Module, letting researchers see the dynamic response of cheekpiece tension to rein tension as it actually happens, complete with the floating fulcrum effects created by the elasticity of the animal's mouth. Before data collection, the load cells are tared to zero once the cheekpiece is pre-tensioned, which is what makes it possible to see the true net values as the rider takes contact on both reins.
