Wireline pump down - Oil & Gas

Pump down operations push tools through deviated or horizontal wells for plug setting and perforation, and this downhole procedure depends on accurate tool string tension readings to work safely. Interface's IPCD Pressure Compensated Downhole Load Cell, attached near the top of the tool string, measures tension between the cable head and tool string throughout the pump down, offering superior accuracy over wet or hydraulically compensated alternatives thanks to its proprietary pressure and temperature compensation. With precise, real-time tool string force measurements available through the customer's own instrumentation, the customer was able to carefully regulate tension forces on the tool string during pump down, avoiding an expensive pump-off tool separation that would otherwise halt the operation.
