Seat Pressure Mapping

Comfort and durability are what customers actually feel in a vehicle seat, and pressure distribution is the data that lets engineers quantify that feeling. XSensor's X3 LX210 Series, supplied by Interface Force Measurements, maps the contact area across both the back and base of a seat, recording pressure data like a video at typically 45 to 55 frames per second. The back and seat cushions can be measured individually or together, with results displayed as an intuitive heat map: hotter colours mean higher pressure. A typical system uses two sensors covering a range of sizes, and Interface's team meets clients on-site to demonstrate the technology directly.
