Search and Rescue Robots

Search and rescue robots operate in mission-critical environments where every mechanical function, from wheel drive to gripper force, has to be verified before deployment. Interface engineers suggested a T14 Slip-Ring Shaft Style Rotary Torque Transducer installed inside the robot's wheel alongside the motor to measure wheel torque, alongside two ConvexBT Load Button Load Cells fitted into the grips of the robotic arm to measure applied pressure. Using these force measurement solutions together, engineers were able to evaluate and optimise key performance areas of the robot, delivering the precise, repeatable data needed to refine performance, improve stability and boost operational reliability when the robot is actually deployed on a rescue mission.
