Optimising cheese weighing on packaging lines

A leading cheese production company needed to optimise packaging lines for a well-known soft-ripened cheese while meeting strict food industry hygiene regulations, without sacrificing accuracy at high line speed. Interface's solution incorporated WSSB Welded Stainless Steel S-Beam Load Cells, IP68 environmentally protected, into the checkweigher at different points along the line. As cheese moves across the belt, the WSSBs measure weight in real time and send results to a 920i Programmable Weight Indicator and Controller, capable of reading up to four scale channels simultaneously. The result was a significant improvement in packaging line efficiency, enabling high-speed operation without compromising the weighing accuracy strict food regulations demand.
