Foundation drilling rigs create the deep holes or shafts that anchor and stabilise structures, and monitoring drill bit torque matters for both functionality and safety, especially in tough ground conditions. Interface's suggested solution attaches a TS11 Flange Style Reaction Torque Transducer, customised for rugged environments, between the auger and shaft of the drilling rig. Connected to a WTS-AM-1E Wireless Strain Bridge Transmitter Module, torque results are transmitted wirelessly to the customer's computer through the WTS-BS-6 Wireless Telemetry Dongle Base Station, using the supplied Log100 software to display, log and graph the data. Results can also be routed to a WTS-BS-1-HS Wireless Handheld Display, giving the drilling crew a live, on-site read on torque as the rig works its way into the ground.
