Energy Industry: Geothermal Well Drilling

Tapping geothermal energy means drilling a deep well into high temperature, high pressure ground conditions, and managing tool string forces properly throughout that process prevents costly tool separation or damage. Interface's IPCD Pressure Compensated Downhole Load Cell, attached at the top of the tool string, measures the forces between the cable head and the tool string as drilling proceeds, with proprietary and maintenance-free dry pressure compensation technology minimising measurement errors caused by pressure effects. Connected to the customer's own instrumentation, cable head tension is monitored closely throughout the drilling process, letting operators manage forces on the toolstring effectively and keep the geothermal drilling programme moving without an expensive, unplanned interruption.
