Energy: Downhole force measurement

Deviated and lateral wells make topside force measurements of little practical value, since the forces that actually matter are happening downhole, at the source, far from any surface-mounted sensor. Successful pump down services require accurate tool string tension readings taken right where the action is. Interface's IPCD Pressure Compensated Downhole Load Cell was developed specifically for downhole tension and compression measurement in high temperature, high pressure well conditions, featuring proprietary pressure and temperature compensation for real-time force data through the customer's own instrumentation. Integrated near the top of the tool string, the IPCD measures tension between the cable head and tool string during pump down, letting the customer control pumping forces with real precision and avoid a costly and disruptive tool pump-off or fishing operation.
