Prototype Production
Top quality development castings can be produced without incurring the usual high costs of tooling.

Pattern Equipment
High quality hardwood, plastic and metal patterns can be modified at any stage to accommodate design changes, but for prototype work, low cost patterns are also available.

Foundry
The use of fully certified ingot LM6 - LM25, LM9 and LM4 - is standard. However, alternative specifications are available. Ultra fine grade natural loam is the main moulding medium but, for larger castings we manufacture moulds using the CO2 or air set processes.

Finishing
Castings are hand-finished by the highly skilled workforce and checked for accuracy/consistency using specific gauges and jigs. A final shotblasting process enables anodising, alochroming or painting to be applied without further surface treatment.

Inspection
Castings are individually inspected during production and on completion, with Certification and Inspection Reports provided as appropriate, all to ISO 9001 standards.

Machining
In-house machined components are thoroughly inspected prior to delivery. Certificate of Conformance or Inspection Reports can be provided as appropriate. Fully equipped in-house machining facilities include CNC Milling and Turning, together with conventional methods of machining. In-house painting facilities include powder coating and wet spray painting to a very high standard.

Sub-Contract Processes
These include heat treatment (to varying specifications), X-Ray, Crack Detection, Anodising, Alochroming, Impregnation, Hot Isostatic Pressing and Plating. We have a great relationship with these companies and a great level of trust.

Tolerances
Our very accurate mould and core assembly produce castings with tolerances of ±0/4mm on castings up to 300mm (pro rata thereafter). Casting thickness down to 3mm, or as low as 2mm in local areas. Draft angles of 1 to 1.5 degrees are the norm. Square faces can also be achieved.
