Wire Cutting EDM

Wire EDM machines use a metallic wire (electrode) in order to cut a programmed contour inside a workpiece. Extrusion dies and blanking punches are very frequently machined by wire cutting. In the machining area, every discharge creates a crater in the workpiece (material removal) as well as an impact on the tool (wear of the tool/electrode).
