The solid inner metal ring acts as a compression stop and fills the annular space between the flange bore as well as the inside diameter. Designed in order to prevent accumulation of solids, reduce turbulent flow of process fluids as well as minimising the erosion of flange faces. Well suited for male and female pipe flanges.
